"What seems to us as bitter trials are often blessings in disguise."
- Oscar Wilde
Remember that everything happens for a reason! There are no mistakes in life and thus, no reason for regret. More clichés about what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, etc. and so forth.
I really do believe that everything happens for a reason, though. Do you?

Either way, have a beautiful week, lovelies! I know I will.. my only final, last paper, and final project are DONE after Tuesday. What does your week look like?
Gorgeous photo. I'm starting my new job on Thursday!
ReplyDeleteThis week is my first social work licensure test. I haven't studied much but plan to this week. Freaking out a little! Otherwise, just prepping for our trip back to Michigan on the 22nd, and getting Matt's family's gifts ready for our exchange the 20th. Good luck making it til Tuesday! You got this girl.
ReplyDeletewoooo! I love first days - they're kind of scary, but you get to be whoever you want to be - no one knows!! Good luck, ma'am
ReplyDeleteoh my goodnessssss! how many tests do you have to take before you're licensed? high stakes tests are so awful - what day is it? I'll be sure to think of you!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture. Let's see, for me, it's another crazy week of events and demoing. But I think I have all next week off.

ReplyDeleteFinished school......going to bake soon!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome quote by the way! =D
I got in trouble for that "everything happens for a reason" thing...with someone who used to live at Mama's house a for short while. I think she was right, though, it's an incredibly privileged thing to say. Like, just think of children born with brain tumors or terminal illnesses! Or any other ridiculously unfair shit that goes down on a daily basis out here IRL. If you apply the "for a reason" logic to something this tragic, it's like that kid's pain is a LESSON for *you*/the child's family, etc. That horrible, horrible suffering happened WHY? Just to teach me something?? No, I don't think everything happens for a reason. Certainly not a GOOD reason, or anything close to making it "worth" it.
ReplyDeleteI think we can TRY to find "something" good in everything, no matter how bad it is (like, "now I'm stronger, mofos"). I think that's a better way to express this sentiment.
Thanks for asking and hosting my dissent. Love you!!
