Grande Soy PSL no whip

We made it through yesterday and we are being rewarded - do you know what today is, friends?

PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE DAY!

Although Pumpkin Spice has been available for about a week at some Starbucks locations, today is the day that this glorious seasonal flavor is Officially Released to those of us with Official Baristas who take their jobs (guarding the Pumpkin Spice) Very Seriously!  I wish I could say that it feels more like autumn already but we're supposed to have record-breaking heat tomorrow so.. better make that Pumpkin Spice iced.

  1. I'm really glad you have this blog so we can remain connected via the things you outwardly love and enjoy, and things I enjoy that would shock and surprise 99.9% of people that know me. So shhhhh.

  2. Oh Jake I'm so glad you like my blog!! Does my lack of surprise mean that I know you too well or not well enough..? Either way, I miss you!

  3. You'll have to tell me does it actually taste like pumpkin or is just the spices used in pumpkin pie? I'm trying to develop a pumpkin spice syrup for my syrup line and I haven't been able to find a pumpkin spice syrup to sample.

As for workouts. Yesterday was gardening day. This morning is starting out that way but I will go running later.

  4. I've turned out to be a bad running buddy. Gardening/yard work turned into a half day event (that should count for something right?) Last week I made the mistake of running before going into the kitchen. That leaves tomorrow and Friday.

    How are you doing?

  5. Ugh, I've been an even worse runner than I have a blogger this week, if you can believe it. Between a new schedule and the INSANE heat here, all I've managed to fit in is some yoga; I haven't run since Sunday! :(

And to answer your question, I think it's much more the spice taste than the pumpkin. I WISH it tasted like liquid pumpkin pie, but then it'd be even more unhealthy.

  6. Too well. Like our sex and the city a thons....I miss you too!! You're back in NY so we can re-unite. I can surely make time in my typical weekends of hooey and applesauce.

  7. Probably not (and I don't mean this sound as snotty as it does) since it's mostly artificial anyway. I've been stumped on infusing pumpkin into a simple syrup. I don't think juicing a pumpkin is an option and I've not yet been able to find an organic natural pumpkin extract. However, I'll let you know if I do.

If I didn't have an event on Friday I probably wouldn't have gotten a post up. Tomorrow I will be running or doing some sort of cardio and maybe even a pumpkin spice syrup. Who knows.
